How to Grow your Leadership Capacity?

This was taken in April 2019 by the Han River @ Seoul, South Korea (LOL! Photo is so unrelated to the topic. Get used to it guys!!!)

I attended a mass last year and what the pastor shared that day resonated with me. Here are the key takeaways of his sermon. I felt the message he was conveying was directed right at me.

How to Grow your Leadership Capacity?

1. Be a Learner
To be leaders, we should be learners who are undefended and open minded.
Grow your perspective.
When faced with challenges, choose to keep a healthy perspective and don't lose sight of God's blessing in the mindset of struggle.

2. Choose to Focus on the Good Things in your Life
Grow your capacity to be bigger than them.
The most inspiring trait in a leader is to be centered and have inner calm in the midst of a storm.

3. Clarify your Vision
What are you trying to accomplish?
Vision is important. It sets the direction you're travelling in life.
Ask yourself. Are you using your time and energy wisely?
Are  your methods accomplishing the end goal?

4. Stop the Unnecessary
A leader cannot keep doing more fo what is important unless they are doing less that what is necessary.
Is it something that only you can do?
Is it essential to what you're trying to achieve?
Does it distract you?
In order to grow, you have to learn how to let go.

5. Raise Up Other Leaders
Love them by praying for them.
Pray for those under your care and authority.
Build their knowledge and teach them to lead with wisdom and integrity and be clear in communicating vision and goal.
Show them the way.
Lead by example.

If you're looking for leaders to rise up, nearly always they are already in your life.💗

When you appoint a leader, let them lead.
Do not micro manage.
Empower them.
They might not always do the same way as you do and that's ok.

This is applicable to everyone. Parents, entrepeneurs, team leaders etc. Everyone.
